Lead Creative Strategist

Matthew Collings is an entrepreneur, published author, public school administrator, and the Co-Founder & Lead Creative Strategist of TheMoneyRant.com.

After writing his book, Negative Net Worth, the idea for TheMoneyRant.com was birthed over drinks with his best friend and TheMoneyRant.com Lead Financial Strategist, Kevin Pense. The fact that so many people struggle every day financially sparked the idea that something has to be done to educate people on how to live a healthy financial life.

Under his co-leadership, TheMoneyRant.com has become one of the most practical personal finance websites on the internet. Personal finance doesn't have to be hard, and it doesn't have to be boring. Those two ideas birthed the concept of "personal financial education meets happy hour," and TheMoneyRant.com was born.

This website helps many people in their personal financial journey and will continue with the mission of equipping people to pay off debt, save money, and build wealth. TheMoneyRant.com is focused on designing creative and engaging content, always keeping the reader in mind first.

Before the inception of TheMoneyRant.com, Matthew served in the United States Air Force, received his master's degree from Grand Canyon University, and served as a public school administrator. With a heart to serve others, a love for education, and a passion for creativity and innovation, TheMoneyRant.com is sure to inspire readers to take control of their personal finances.

As a Fort Worth Texas resident, Matthew is active in his local community and local church body. He supports many local community programs and speaks at various engagements around Fort Worth.

Our vision is simple! We want to talk about money and ultimately equip others to pay off debt, save money, and build wealth.

Lead Financial Strategist

Kevin Pense is an entrepreneur, Division Order Technician, and the Co-Founder and Lead Financial Strategist of TheMoneyRant.com.

The idea for TheMoneyRant.com was a long journey for Kevin. He always knew that he would one day write and speak on personal finance but the stars did not align until his friend Matthew Collings needed help getting out of a tough financial spot. Kevin coached Matthew and his wife to assess their financial situation and helped them get on a plan to change it, and they did. After Matthew wrote his book and Kevin saw how much Matthew had learned, Kevin thought maybe we could teach this to others. Matthew asked Kevin about doing a blog and Kevin was immediately on board.

Under his co-leadership, TheMoneyRant.com brand and vision came to life. The idea has always been and still is, to be a place where people can come to learn how to better manage their finances without feeling like they are being audited by the IRS. We want to design life-changing personal finance content that also looks great.

He has always said personal finance isn’t hard, once you know how to do it. This is where TheMoneyRant.com mission comes from; teach people how to get out of debt, save money, and build wealth.

Prior to the start of TheMoneyRant.com, he served on the Student Development team at William Jessup University in California. He then went on to become a Division Order Tech at Total, the 4th largest energy company in the world. With a passion for personal finance and teaching, he hopes to help as many people as possible take back control of their finances.

As a resident of Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin continues to serve at Total while Co-Managing TheMoneyRant.com. He is active in his local church and is first and foremost, unapologetically a Christian.

Our vision is simple! We want to talk about money and ultimately equip others to pay off debt, save money, and build wealth.
